Getting Started Overview Information Guide -> Start-Up Operator Role Security

Texada SRM utilizes operator roles to control user access levels and security permissions within the software.
The security roles can be used to control which Operators can:

access the various menus and individual menu options in the menu tree, as outlined in Menu Security

view and change configurable variables and tables defined in Configure System Settings

delete documents and data records according to document or record type

release locked Posting Control files as explained in Posting Control Information

access and change specific fields in data entry screens according to the Document Access Fields defined in Security Role Permission

perform functions and actions not controlled by options in the menu tree, such as add inventory or close a W.O. as outlined in Security Role Permission in the Miscellaneous window

Three basic roles have been pre-set and shipped with your new software including:

Administrator - with complete access to all functionality
Accounting - with access restricted to A/R, A/P, G/L, billing, and all posting processes
Counter - with access to only the inventory and store rental/sales/service processes

These roles can be viewed in Security Roles where permissions can be used as pre-set, or modified as required.
Additional roles can be added in the Security Roles table with the appropriate permissions.
Activate and assign the roles to the appropriate operators in the Associated Operators window. An operator can be assigned multiple roles where fitting.
