Customer Forms and Duplex Printing

Getting Started Overview Information Guide -> Customer Forms and Duplex Printing

FORMS CONTROL
Forms Control can provide a laser style print format, that can be viewed on screen, or printed, or exported to an Adobe Acrobat or a Word file for storage or emailing. Forms Control provides flexibility customizing reports and documents, with company logos, duplex printing, Letter size, A4 printing, number of copies, etc.

The Forms Control for Jasper or Crystal Reports feature can be activated by Texada Support in Customer Forms .
Contact Texada Support for more information on using the Customer Forms software.

EMAIL DOCUMENTS
Documents printed using Crystal Forms Control can be generated as a PDF file and emailed directly at the time of the print request, by selecting the Email Customer Docs as PDF option in the Printer Selection window.
Refer to Email A File for server and address setup information.

SIGNATURE CAPTURE
The option to capture a customer's signature is provided after printing specific Crystal documents.
This feature is not available of Jasper Forms 3.0 or Web App sessions that use Jasper Forms.

To utilize signature capturing on Forms Control documents, the serial port pad Topaz T-s751-B is required with the appropriate Windows drive and executable program (TS571_sigpad.exe and TS571_sigpad_setup.exe).
The signature capture can be configured to a File or FTP.

The signature requirement can be set by document type, by division, to None, Mandatory, or Optional, in the document detail record in the Document/Forms Mappings.
When a range of documents (multiple documents) are reprinted, no signature prompt is triggered.
When a single document is re-printed the mandatory flag is changed to optional, to prevent collecting multiple.

Refer to Customer Forms for more information on the use and configuration.

DUPLEX PRINTING
Duplex printing is the process of printing on both sides of a document simultaneously.
This feature is useful when printing documents such as contracts that require complete 'Rental Terms Agreement' information to be printed on the back on the document.

The following setup is required to utilize Duplex printing in SRM Software:

Use of Crystal or Jasper Reports activated in Customer Forms with appropriate forms assigned in the Customer Forms Document Mapping window.

oA Jasper duplex document format is only provided for counter documents including contract, quotes, reservation, work order, estimate, invoices. All other Jasper templates will not support duplex printing.

oCrystal documents can all be printed in duplex because the Crystal printing duplex/non-duplex settings are controlled at Client side.

Printing on a printer that has a Duplex print option activated.

Enabled on the Workstation for the Windows printer in the Setup and Accessories folders of printer Properties. Contact Texada Support to set this up.

Enabled on each workstation from within Texada SRM by clicking on Printer option on the menu bar at the top of the screen. Then on SET PRINTER in the drop-down list as outlined in Printer Selection click on MARGINS and for the selected printer click EDIT. Then on the DUPLEX PRINTING tab check the ENABLE box and click OK.

All report and documents will now print duplex.
This means that the document prints only on odd numbered pages, and the special designated text always prints on the even numbered pages.
Documents that do not require text on the back of each page can be setup to select a "blank" document when duplex printing is not required.

Note: Because the Windows print Driver has now been set to Duplex mode, all print jobs from this workstation to this printer will print duplex.
If required, it is suggested that this same printer be added as a workstation printer a second time with the regular (non-duplex) drivers, for selection for standard one sided print jobs.
