Document Alternate Prorating

Prorating provides the ability to bill partial rental periods.

•Standard prorating structures are defined for each class in Rental Product Classes.

•An optional Alternate prorating structure can be defined company wide in the Default Product Classes to give preferred customers or job sites an even better deal.

Note: Prorating does not apply to equipment out for less than one day.
 It applies to time out past a day, and also partial days past the weekly or past the monthly period.

This window is triggered on the rental document header to choose whether Product Class or the alternate prorating rules should apply to rentals on this document, only if the customer has been flagged to Prompt User for prorating method in the Customer Billing Settings of the Customer Information .

The options to apply to this document include:

oStandard Prorating - to use the prorating rules defined for the corresponding equipment Rental Product Classes

oAlternate Prorating - to use the Alternate prorating structure defined in the Default Product Classes for all rentals on this document

oProrating Does Not Apply - to charge full rates for each rental period without allowing partial periods.
