Clone Group Rates to Special Rates
This is a maintenance utility that can be added to an Additional Options menu if required as it is not on a standard menu and the screen has not been properly GUI formatted.
This program can be used to copy the existing Group Rates and/or Group Special Rates to Special Rates for the products within that group.
Its function is similar to Clone Group Rates To Products .
Prior to running the clone group rates program, the general Group special rates can be setup using Copy Special Rental Rates and then Group Special Rates can be used to edit and "fine-tune" individual group special rates.
Note: When copying the group special rates to the products, if no rate is specified for a Group rate level in the Group Special Rates, then the rate from Groups is copied.
The prompts to copy the rates are:
GENERATE GROUPS
Type N (NO) to manually build the desired list of Groups in Add mode.
This is useful if only one or a small number of groups are to be cloned.
Type Y (YES) to generate a list of Groups in the selected range. Only groups with "Clone Group Rates" set to Y (YES) in Groups, are eligible.
This approach is useful if a large number of consecutively numbered groups are to be cloned.
FROM GROUP
Press <ENTER> to include all eligible Groups, or enter a starting Group, or press <F4> to select a starting Group from the window.
TO GROUP
Press <ENTER> to include all eligible Groups, or enter an ending Group, or press <F4> to select an ending Group from the window.
ENTER Y TO ACCEPT, / TO CANCEL
Enter Y (YES) to accept or / to cancel.
Group List
Only Groups flagged to clone Group Rates, in Groups will be included in the Group list that is generated. Delete unwanted Groups from the list, by moving the cursor to the unwanted Group, and pressing <F7> to DELETE, and then pressing <F3> to ACCEPT.
When all the Groups listed on the screen should be included in the clone, press <F3> to reach the bottom of the screen.
FROM GROUP SPECIAL RATE LEVEL
Select the Special Rate Level of the Groups to be copied to the product special rates, or press <F4> and select one from the window.
If a rate level is not specified in Group Special Rates, then the corresponding rate from Groups is copied.
Note: If this field is left blank, the rates are copied from the standard Group rates rather than any special rate level.
TO PRODUCT SPECIAL RATE LEVEL
Enter the Special Rate Level for the products, to which the Group Special Rates should be copied, or press <F4> and select one from the window.
Generally, the same Special Rate Level is entered for the products, as was entered for the Group source in the "From Group Special Rate Level" field.
Note: If this field is left blank, the rates are copied to the regular product rates rather than any special rate level.
BULK OR NON-BULK
Type B (BULK) to clone Group special rates for only the Bulk items.
Type N (NON-BULK) to clone Group special rates for single Non-Bulk products.
NON-BULK OWNING DIVISION
Enter the Owning Division. Only the Non-Bulk rental items whose tags are assigned this Owning Division, are affected.
USE GROUP TO HRS & METER HRS
Type N (NO) to prevent any rates from being copied.
Type Y (YES) to copy both the "To Hrs" from the Group and the "Meter Hrs" and Rates.
Type T to copy only the "To Hrs" and Rates , but not the "Meter Hrs".
Type M to copy only the "Meter Hrs" and Rates, but not the "To Hrs".
ENTER Y TO ACCEPT, / TO CANCEL
Type Y (YES) to proceed with the update, or / to cancel.
The cloned Special Rates can then be viewed and modified in Product Special Rates, as required.
The cloned regular Rates can then be viewed and modified in Update Product Rental Information.
