View a Text File

Diagnostic Log -> View a Text File

This is the standard view screen that displays the contents of a text file that could have been generated from various functions in the software where follow-up may be required.
 It is useful for viewing data files and system generated logs.

The file name is displayed with the path.
 e.g. /tmp/tsi.log or c:\scsbin\\scstemp\279408.S.log

Some of the sources for such a text file include:

•The Data Base Compare check run from Database Sanity Check

•The Jasper Debug Log triggered by a failed Jasper report as outlined in Log Forms Errors in Company Customer Forms

•The Automated Job Trace Log run by SCS operator for diagnostic purposes from the SCSCRON Log

•The Logbox Payments can be reviewed from the VIEW button on the Import Lockbox Payments

ACTIONS:
 Additional actions provided by buttons on the View a Text File screen include:

•Print the Log File:
 Click the PRINT button to create a hard copy or to email the contents of the log, according to the print selection for the session.
