Vertex / Avalara Compatible Parameter Settings


System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Company Parameters -> Taxing Parameters -> Taxing Method changed to Vertex -> Vertex Compatible Parameter Settings

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Company Parameters -> Taxing Parameters -> Taxing Method changed to Avalara-> Avalara- Compatible Parameter Settings


When Vertex or Avalara software is activated in the Company Taxing Parameters, certain other parameters must also be set to ensure the required information is captured to determine taxes according to the Vertex and Avalara formulas.
 These parameters include:

Company Parameters:

oCompany Contract Parameters - Print GST Asterisk On Documents = N

oCompany Contract Parameters - Ship To City Must be Valid = N ('Bill To City' can be either Y or N)

oCompany Contract Parameters - Damage Waiver Calculation Type = Standard

oCompany Contract Parameters - Tax 1 Damage Waiver = N

oCompany Billing Parameters - Merge Cycle Bill Invoices with Current Invoices = N

oTaxing Parameters - Prompt For Taxes When Selling Rental = N

oTaxing Parameters - Prevent Change to Document Tax Totals = Y

Division Parameters:

oDivision Contract Parameters - Tax 1 Damage Waiver = Y

oDivision Return Parameters - Hold Invoice On Partial Return = N <- not changed with Vertex 9.0

Division Setup:

oDivisions - Tax Codes By Div Or Customer = C

The parameter list is only triggered when the Third Party Taxing application is activated if some of the parameters need to be changed.
 It includes the setting description, new value requirement, type or level of parameter, and the category of the parameter.

The list can be resorted by any column in ascending or descending order, by clicking on the column heading. Columns can also be dragged and dropped to temporarily reposition them as required.

To reset the parameters in the list to the New Value required by Vertex or Avalara software, click ACTIVATE.
 Once these parameters are set accordingly, they are disabled and cannot be changed while Vertex or Avalara software is being utilized.
