Warranty Type Codes


System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Operations Tab -> Inventory -> Warranty Type Codes


This option can be used to define Warranty Type codes with associated Warranty comments, that can then be assigned with an expiry date to the Fixed Asset Tags of non-bulk Rental Inventory, so that when a Work Order is printed for service of that equipment, the Warranty comments and expiry date will print on the Work Order document.

Note: Warranty Type Codes do not apply to bulk rental items, as a specific Asset Tag cannot be identified from the Work Order.

An operator must be assigned a Security Role that allows permission to the Operations - Warranty Type Codes in order to access this table.

The prompts to set up the Warranty Type Codes are:

SEQ

The sequence number tracks the code records in the file.

CODE

Enter the Warranty Type Code of up to 5 alpha-numeric characters.

DESCRIPTION

Enter the comment for this code as it should be printed on the Work Order for relevant non-bulk products, using up to a 30 character maximum.
 The comment only prints on the W.O. for non-bulk rental equipment if the Warranty Type Code is assigned in the corresponding Fixed Asset Tags.

Finished?

Click OK to exit when the list of codes is complete.

ACTIONS:
 Additional actions provided by buttons on the Warranty Type Codes screen include:

Delete a Warranty Type Code:
 Warranty Type Codes cannot be deleted if they have been assigned to any Rental Inventory.

To delete an existing warranty type code, click the DELETE button to access the list of warranty codes not in use that are eligible for deletion.
 Click on the record to be deleted to highlight it in focus and click the DELETE button.
 Confirmation is required.

An audit record of the deletion is not written.
