Product Inquiry Search

Inventory Control Menu -> Detailed Inventory Inquiry -> Product# window -> Product Inquiry Search

This search utility can be used to find a specific product or to find a starting product to be displayed in the Detailed Inventory Inquiry.
 Once the starting product is defined the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons on the inquiry, can be used to move through the products in sequence.

The prompts to define the starting product and the sequence to display them include:

SELECT BY

Select one of the following product options:

•Select Product to choose the starting product and to "page" through the products in product number sequence, regardless of whether the product is rental or sales.

STARTING PRODUCT #

This field is enable with the Inventory Search window to find the starting product.

•Select Group to choose the starting product by Group and to "page" through the products in that Group before moving on to the next or previous Group of products.
 

STARTING GROUP

This field is enable with the Group Search window to find the starting product by selecting a Group.

Note: When the products are being displayed by Group sequence the Group prompt is displayed in bold text.

•Select List to choose the starting product and the sequence display, using the following Product Selection filters to generate a paging screen list of products.
 The Product Selection prompts and filters include:

ALL LOCATIONS

Check this box to include products from all locations.

Uncheck this box to select a single location for the product.

LOCATION

Accept the default location for the operator, as setup in Operators, or select a location from the drop-down list according to the Divisional Restricted Views assigned to the operator.

PRODUCT CLASS, "ALL" OR "SEL"

oType ALL to include products from all Product Classes in the output.

oEnter a specific class, to only select for products from a single Product Class, or select a Product Class from the Product Class Search window.

oType SEL to select a combination of Product Classes to include in the output as outlined in Selected Class List.

PRODUCT GROUP, "ALL" OR "SEL"

oType ALL to include all products from all Groups in the output.

oEnter a single specific Group, or select it from the Group Search window.

oType SEL to select multiple Groups in the Select Group List window.

Note: If a specific Product Class has been selected, to select a specific Group, that Group must be associated with the Class.

INVENTORY ONLY

Check this box to include only products that are flagged as being Inventory in Sales Inventory/Rental Inventory.
 Uncheck this box to include all products regardless of the Inventory flag.

ALL VENDORS

Check this box to include products from all suppliers.

Uncheck this box to select products from a single specific vendor.

VENDOR

Enter the vendor number or select it from the Vendor Search window.

SORT ORDER

Select one of the following sort options for the 'paging screen' display and to also be used to 'page' through the products in the inquiry using the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons:

oSelect Product to sequence the products number order.

oSelect Class to sequence the products within the Product Class before moving to the next class.

oSelect Class/Group to sequence the products within each Group in a class before moving to the next class.

oSelect Class to sequence the products within the Product Class before moving to the next class.

oSelect Description to sequence the products alphabetically based on the primary product description.

oSelect Group to sequence the products within Group.

Finished?

Click the ACCEPT button if a specific starting Product or Group was selected, to return to the Detailed Inventory Inquiry.
 If the List option and Product Selection filters were used, the resulting list of products are displayed in a paging screen, by sequence number with the product number, description, On Hand count, price, rental status, and date acquired for rental products.
 A window is provided in the "V" View column to access the details for the product, making it the "starting product" in the List.
