Rate Discount Tracking Report

Reports Menu -> Commissions -> Rate Discount Tracking Report

This spreadsheet output can be used to review and analyze rental discounts given on contracts, using division, customer, and date filters.
It provides details on how much of a rental discount has been given by rental product on a contract on negotiated rates, as well as how much counter staff are giving on rate over-rides, and the document salesman.

In interpreting the report it is the differences in the three 'Extended' rate columns that are key:

Any difference between the Rack Extended and the Customer Extended is the negotiated special rates given to the customer.

Any difference between the Invoice Extended and the Customer Extended is the amount given at the counter.

Resulting Spreadsheet output:
The values on the spreadsheet represent the detailed rental rate information captured from the contract that is included on the report when the billing invoice is posted.
The values on the spreadsheet do not include Special Discount rates, even though the inquiry does in View Document Rates.

The Extended rate columns on the spreadsheet show the rates charged including any discounts and over-rides on the document.

The Daily, Weekly, 4 Weeks, and Event rates on the output each have a column displaying the values for Rack Rate, Customer Rate, and Invoice Rate, are as follows:

oThe Rack rate columns on the spreadsheet reflect the standard product rates as defined in product Rate Information with consideration to any Special Rates as defined for the division as the Special Rate code in the Divisional Rate Parameters.

oThe Customer rate columns on the spreadsheet are the rates that the customer on the document would be charges as their customized original rates.
This reflects the Rack Rates over-ridden by any Special Rates negotiated for them, but does not reflect the rental discount percent that is displayed on the contract header, or expanded detail record.

oThe Invoice rate columns on the spreadsheet are the rates that are currently given on the document.
These do not reflect any discounts or rate over-rides made at the counter.

The two Discount columns on the spreadsheet show the rental discount percents from the document detail, and are only reflected in the Extended rate columns.
