Scheduling and Process Console

Utilities Menu -> System Maintenance Utilities -> Scheduling and Process Console

This utility is only really meant for use if your gateway processing is not functioning properly on the server.

This utility can be used if your firm is having problems with the bus and task failing, to allow a session on the server to start and run these tasks in cases where background tasks (BKTX) and automated jobs (SCSCRON) are not running.
 Sessions need to be opened and left running continuously to be effective.
 Either option keeps looping over and over again every 15 seconds.
 

Note: The tasks will only run when the sessions are open and running. Once the session is terminated, the tasks will fail again.

The Server time, Background Task and Job Scheduling dates and statuses are displayed.

PROCESS TO RUN

•From a session on the Server click Background Tasks to restart the background tasks as outlined in Background Processing.
 Confirmation is required.

•From a session on the Server click Automated Jobs to initiate the SCSCRON program to run and monitor the jobs setup in the Automatic Job Scheduling screen.
 Confirmation is required.

Note: On a Linux server, any attempt to run the automated jobs just gives a warning that this should be started by the background processing instead.
