Re-Create Temporary Files

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> System Tab -> Texada Settings -> Create Required Files -> MAKE LIST button -> Re-Create Temporary Files

Utilities Menu -> System Maintenance Utilities -> Create Required Files -> MAKE LIST button -> Re-Create Temporary Files

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Automatic Job Scheduling -> Function FCRT02 -> runs Re-Create Temporary Files

This Re-Create Temporary Files utility can be used to build a list of pro-isam temp files ( keyed on SCS_TERM) that are to be physically re-created either one time manually by clicking RUN at the bottom of this screen, or regularly by setting up the FCRT02 job to be run from the Automatic Job Scheduling.

The purpose of re-creating certain large temp files, is to empty them when they are not in use in order to decrease the file size.
This could be useful if the large amount of data in the temp file such as in RSEQ01A, is causing the Data Integrity Check to run too long and is forcing the logins to remain disabled.
Recreating large temp files empties them and eliminates unnecessary delays in completing the data check process.

To access this utility, the operator must have Security Role Permission to Re-Create Temporary Files in the Deletions flag settings.
The function FCRT01 can also be put on a custom menu for access to the Re-Create Temporary Files utility from the menu tree.

List the temp files that should be re-created as empty.
This is restricted to files that have SCS_TERM as the first key field, to prevent users from killing important (non-temp) files.

ACTIONS:
Additional actions provided by buttons on the Re-Create Temporary Files screen include:

Click the RUN button to immediately recreate the temp files in the list.
This should be done after work hours in case another operator is currently using data in the temp files.

This action can also be triggered by setting up FCRT02 job to automatically run from the Automatic Job Scheduling.
