Update Product or Group Min/Max - by Import

Purchase Order Menu -> Inventory Re-Ordering -> Edit Min & Max Utility -> PRODUCT IMPORT button -> Update Product Min/Max

Purchase Order Menu -> Inventory Re-Ordering -> Edit Min & Max Utility -> GROUP IMPORT button -> Update Group Min/Max

This export/import tool can be used to update the Minimum and Maximum Re-Order quantities and the Re-Order Multiple for Sales and Rental products or for Groups, by exporting a template with the existing values and re-importing the modified values.
 

Min/Max values are saved for:

•Sales Inventory in the Inventory Re-Order Information window

•Rental Inventory in the Make/Model and Re-Order Information window

•Products ordered by location in the Re-Order Information by Location

•Groups in the Group Min/Max Locations window

These values can also be updated manually in the Edit Min & Max Utility.

The Min/Max export/import flow includes:

•Create Worksheet:
 Click Export option in the radio group to generate a spreadsheet template or a spreadsheet with the existing Min & Max values for the selected products or groups as outlined in Product Min/Max Export or the Group Min/Max Export.
 Additional records can be added for existing Products or Groups.
 Update the spreadsheet with the changes to the Min & Max & Re-Order Multiple values and save the data to a tab delimited TXT or CSV file.

Note: The exported template for Groups, only lists the Groups that already have a Min or Max value defined but additional existing Groups can be added to the spreadsheet with their Min/Max values and the associated location.

•Move the Saved Text File to the Server:
 Click Upload File to copy the updated saved txt or csv file from your client machine to the data directory on the server in preparation for importing.
 The Select a File to Upload utility is used to search for the file and to rename it to "prod_min_max.txt" or "group_min_max.txt" before completing the upload.
 File upload success or failure is displayed.

•Update the Product or Group Min & Max with the new Values:
 Click Import to validate the new data and to update the Min/Max values in the Re-Order tables for the relevant Products or Groups.

IGNORE BLANK VALUES

Uncheck this box so that values on the import including blank values, will replace any and all existing values.

Check this box to only change values that are in the position based column so that only those values replace existing data.
 This option does not remove existing data when blanks are left on the import data.

Errors such as invalid data values and format errors will be reported on a spreadsheet and will prevent those records from being imported.

The option is provided to still import successful records or to abort the import.

•Exit 'Update Group Information' sub-menu:
 Click Cancel when no further action from this sub-menu is required.

Click OK to initiate the action selected in the radio group.
