Avalara Tax Settings

System Maintenance Menu -> Configure System Settings -> Company Parameters -> Taxing Parameters -> Taxing Method changed to Avalara Tax -> Avalara Tax Settings

When the Avalara Tax software is activated in the Company Taxing Parameters, the following configuration values apply as supplied by Avalara.

ENDPOINT URL PLAY

This value is automatically populate when the "Avalara Tax Settings" configuration screen is accessed.

ENDPOINT URL LIVE

This value is automatically populate when the "Avalara Tax Settings" configuration screen is accessed.

WEBSITE URL PLAY

This value is automatically populate when the "Avalara Tax Settings" configuration screen is accessed.
 A link is provided to open the login URL for the play company.

WEBSITE URL LIVE

This value is automatically populate when the "Avalara Tax Settings" configuration screen is accessed.
 A link is provided to open the login URL for the live company.

ACCOUNT NAME

This will be supplied by Avalara

ACCOUNT NUMBER

This will be supplied by Avalara

LICENSE KEY PLAY

This will be supplied by Avalara

LICENSE KEY LIVE

This will be supplied by Avalara

AUTHORIZATION PLAY

This value is display only as it is calculated from the Account Number and License Key.

ENABLE DOCUMENT RECORDING

This feature is under development.

ENABLE CLIENT SIDE LOGGING

This parameter activates logging of Avalara activity globally across the company.
 When this is not activated logging can be activated by specific session from the Command line.
 Log files are written to the sever in /var/tmp for debug purposes and trx tracking.

Confirmation to activated is required in the Avalara Logging window.

ENABLE ADDRESS VALIDATION

When enable address validation service is activated for site and shipping addresses (not billing) by this Avalara parameter then all site addresses defined on documents and in Customer Site and when adding new site-on-the-fly from Add Customer Site are validate by the Address Validation pop-up dialogue box.

Note: Shipping or site address validation from the Avalara library requires that the Country code on the Customer must be blank, CA, CAN, US or USA.
 Other country codes are not supported.

When this address validation service is activated for USPS in the Address Tools then this Avalara address validation option is disabled because using 2 validation tools is not required.
 When this address validation service is activated by the Avalara parameter then the validation service in the Address Tools is also forced to use Avalara addresses.

ENTITY CODES

Window to view the Entity Codes defined by Avalara. These codes can not be changed in this Entity Codes window.
 Entity Codes can be assigned to categorize customers such as state/government/agriculture.

AVATAX CODES

Window to setup and view the AvaTax Codes in the AvaTax System Tax Codes window.
 AvaTax Codes can be manually maintained or can be imported from a tab-delimited text file.

An AvaTax Code can be assigned to each rental and sales product, rental and sales class, group, service and waiver by selecting it from the AvaTax Search window.
 A separate AvaTax Code for disposals can also be assigned to each each rental product, rental class and group.

Note: The utility Avalara Tax Calculation Trace can be used to view the taxing information for a document that Avalara Software calculates and returns to Texada SRM.

ACTIONS:
 Additional actions provided by buttons on the Avalara Tax Settings screen include:

•List Companies with this Account:
 The COMPANY LOOKUP button to generate a spreadsheet listing all companies associated with the Account Number.

•Test the Connection:
 Click the TEST CONNECTION button to generate a success/fail response for connection and for Authentication status.

•Access Avalara Documentation:
 Click the USER GUIDE button to access more information about Avalara taxing .
