Manufacturing Overview
Inventory Control Menu -> Manufacturing Overview
Using these manufacturing programs, sales inventory products can be built using your own parts, and then can be received into Sales inventory or sold directly to a customer.
Manufacturing Run:
The Manufacturing Receiving program is used to log each completed manufacturing run by date and provides the ability to create an invoice selling the newly manufactured sales product.
- part quantities are relieved from inventory stock at time of MF receiving
- manufactured sales product quantity is added to inventory stock at time of MF receiving
- invoiced quantity of manufactured product is relieved from inventory stock when invoice created in MF receiving
- Daily Close required to post GL costs and post any invoice created to sell manufactured product
Availability:
Availability checking is applied if the parts used are associated with Groups that are flagged to do so.
Defining Component Parts and optional BOM Codes:
The parts used in the manufacturing process can be defined in the tables accessed from the Configuration System Settings.
Inventory Bill Of Materials - defines the components in the build including BOM Codes used
BOM Codes:
Optional Bill of Material Codes can be setup, and multiple parts with varying quantities can be assigned to these BOM Codes.
By using a BOM code as a component in building the product, the list of parts assigned to the code can automatically be used in manufacturing the new product.
•Bill Of Material Codes - setup optional BOM codes with descriptions
•Bill of Materials by Code - assign parts used by each BOM code
Cost Rounding:
Because the costs of parts used is rounded to 2 decimal places, a "Manufacturing Rounding" account must be setup in the Additional Accounts window of Default Accounts.
Manufacturing Reports and Inquiries:
The sales parts with quantities and costs used in the construction, can be tracked using the following screen inquiries and printed reports:
•Bill Of Materials Inquiry By Component
•Receiving Report by Component
•Receiving Report by Manufactured Product
•Bill Of Materials Re-Order Report
