There are several approaches to setting up System Security.
Each requires setting up and assigning roles to each operator in Operators, and also assigning the role and optional password, to the restricted menu, data module, menu option, or program function, on the Security tab of the Configure System Settings.
Reason Code and password requirements can also be enabled and tracked.
The general methods of maintaining system security include:
•Security Roles - controls access to menus, and actions by operator role according to the permissions given to that role
•Module Passwords - controls modules and menu options and actions by Security Roles and password
•Inventory Inquiry Category - controls what can be viewed in Inventory Inquiry
•Override Security Overview - security access requiring Override Reasons with audit reporting
•Application Menu Maintenance- customize menus
•Divisional Restricted Views - security control of data by company Store or Division
•Login Session Restrictions - set maximum sessions per operator for licensing control
•Clerk Password Requirement - forces the clerk code with password confirmation on counter activities as setup in the Company Security Parameters.
•MITS Dynamic Reporting Security & Overview - setup server access and user control to reporting tool
