CANCELING A PRINT JOB

For Dos Systems:

To cancel the printing of a report, try pushing the OFF-LINE button on the printer. When the printer is off-line, it is deliberately prevented from printing. After a few moments this message appears on your screen: Device PRN not ready, Abort, Retry, Ignore.
This means that the printer is not ready to print, and is asking if the report should be cancelled. If I for IGNORE is entered, the software stops sending information to the printer and exits the printer program. Now turn the printer off to clear its memory of the print job. Then turn it back on and resume working.

For LINUX Systems:

For LINUX, if the printer is attached (or direct) to the terminal, then use Control-C to cancel the print job. To do this, hold down the CONTROL key and press C key. This will exit to ? prompt. To proceed, type in GO <ENTER> to return to the SRM Main Menu.

For spooled LINUX printers, consult your LINUX manual on how to access your print queue, or type in lpstat -t to determine the printer name, then type cancel printer name. This will cancel ALL print jobs currently waiting for that printer.

Alternatively, <F4> in the Option field on any menu, to access the printer selection window.
Enter L (LIST) in the selection window in the ? column and press <ENTER>. All print jobs for this operator for this printer list on the screen.
The prompts are:

CANCEL YOUR PRINT JOBS

Enter N (NO) to abort the cancel function.

Enter Y (YES) to cancel the print job.

PRINTER NAME, JOB #, BLANK FOR ALL

The printer name defaults to the selected printer. Press <ENTER> to cancel all print jobs with that printer name.
If a print job # is entered, only that job is cancelled.
